Ella Mae was the daughter of Jasper and Viola Henderson Johnson. She was born in Hartsville, Darlington Co., SC. Her father died when Ella Mae was only a few months old. Her mother, Viola married George W. Ganey around 1911. The family moved to Richland Co., SC for a few years. Then they moved to Carolina, Covington Co., AL and later to Okaloosa Co., FL. She married Huey Adams on Jan 10, 1931 in Milton, Escambia Co., FL. They had three sons. Ella Mae was my father, Jessie Ganey's sister. She was a favorite aunt of mine. She was always fun to be with. She loved Gardenias and Roses.
