CORRELL, CHARLES F. "CHIP," 30, of Oldsmar, died Wednesday (May 1, 2002) at home. He was born in Stoughton, Wis., and came here in 1988 from Hubertus, Wis.

He interned at WTVT - Ch. 13 and wrote articles for Tampa Bay Magazine. He was a graduate of Hartford High School in Wisconsin. He earned his associate of arts degree at St. Petersburg Junior College and his bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of South Florida.

He was an active board member of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Pinellas County, and was an advocate for mental health insurance parity. He wrote and published a book of his experience with mental illness, entitled Overcoming OCD and Schizophrenia with God in My Life. He enjoyed music, computers, and caring for his cat.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Dee and Denny Nelson Clearwater; a brother, John Correll, San Diego, Calif., his grandfather, Charels R. Miller, Safety Harbor, his grandmother, Ruth Linke, Colorado Springs, Co; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater.
