"Funeral services for Johnnie Smith, of Jefferson, are to be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Saint Paul Methodist Church, in Jefferson. The body is at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home of Jefferson. The Rev. C.H. Moore is to conduct the services. Burial is to be in Valley Plains Cemetery. Mr. Smith died Monday in Dallas. He was a native of Jefferson, and he was a member of Valley Plains Methodist Episcopal Church. Surviving are three brothers, Charlie Smith and James Smith, both of Jefferson, and Willie (Bill) Smith, of Dallas; and five sisters, Mrs. Ada Allen and Mrs. Bessie Williams, both of Jefferson, Mrs. Eliza Brummer, of Greenville, Mrs. Ida Mayfield, of Dallas, and Mrs. Fannie Collins, of Texarkana."
