Bobbie Joe Atwell, age 73, of Hardyville, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. He was a native of Barren County, a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, a former employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co., Ken-Dec, Caverna Memorial Hospital and retired from the Hart County School System.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lucian & Ellen Edwards Atwell, three brothers, Cecil, James Lucian Atwell, Jr. and Bill Atwell.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Atwell, Hardyville, one son, Ricky Atwell & wife, Aimee, Hardyville, one daughter, Susan Taylor and husband, Keith, Cub Run, five grandchildren, Tyler Atwell, Aaron Atwell, Emmee Atwell, Kaitlyn Taylor & Kurtis Taylor, one sister, Mary Blakey of Canmer, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Winn Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Houk Cemetery. Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 1-8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday.
