HORSE CAVE — Blanche Atwell, 87, of the Three Springs community, formerly of Horse Cave, died at 12:30 a.m. Jan. 30, 2004, at Caverna Memorial Hospital in Horse Cave. The Hart County native was a retired cook for the Hart County School System and a member of Joyner's Chapel Church. She was a daughter of the late Will Ed and Lillie Pearl Smith McCubbin and wife of the late Damon Atwell. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Eugenia Fancher and Dorothy McCubbin, a granddaughter, Dottie McCubbin Bryant, a great-great-granddaughter, Tabitha Fancher, and a great-great-granddaughter-in-law, Tammy Fancher. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Winn Funeral Home in Horse Cave, with burial in Houk Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Survivors include four grandchildren, Bobby McCubbin and his wife, Susan, of Monroe, Patsy McMahan and her husband, Don, of Three Springs, Barbara Fancher of Horse Cave and Becky McCubbin and her husband, Dennis, of Horse Cave; 12 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
