A Sad and Sudden Death.

On Monday afternoon Miss Jane Alvord, daughter of Gideon and Sarah Alvord, aged 26 years, died at her parents residence in North Ogden, of that dread disease diptheria. This is the third death which has occurred in the family within the last ten days. Mr. and Mrs. Alvord having buried two younger children one week ago yesterday. What makes the young lady's death more pitiable was the fact that her marriage with a young man, well and honorably known in the community, Richard Smith, was soon to have taken place. The gentleman had just completed one of the handsomest residences in the county, outside of Ogden, in happy anticipation of the day when his bride would reign there, and words are insufficient to express his present dispair.
The speakers at the funeral services yesterday were Bishops Wade and Wallis and Elder John Seaman. Memorial wervices will be held in the North Ogden meeting house Sunday, July 10th, at 2 p.m., and in the evening the young ladies of the M.I.A. and the children of the Primary associations will march to the cemetery and decorate the graves.
