Deceased Name: Lowell Robert Alvord
Lowell Robert Alvord, age 59, passed away Saturday, December 4, 1999 in Oroville, California. Born March 5, 1940 in Ogden, Utah, Mr. Alvord was a sales representative for Erskine-John's Plastic Corp. for ten years. Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. He was involved in inventing the original prototypes for the artificial heart. He was also involved in the development of the stealth bomber, while he was a teacher for the Job Corp. Prior to working at Erskine-John's, he was the manager for Modo Enterprises, where he was involved in the designs and working of fiberglass furniture. For the last five years, he spent his time taking care of his father, Lowell W. Alvord, who preceded him in death by May of this year. Bob is survived by his wife, Lorna Alvord of Oroville, CA; his children, Richard Alvord of Ogden, UT, Michael and Marsha Alvord of Roy, UT, Nola Diamond of North Hills, CA, Radcliffe Davis of North Hills, CA, Del Roy Diamond of North Hollywood, CA, Shanna Haynes of Oroville, CA, Kevin and Lena Diamond of Oroville, CA; sister, Irene Butlers of Salt Lake City, UT; 18 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Memorial services were held Friday, December 10 in Oroville, California. Burial will take place at a later date at the North Ogden Cemetery in Ogden, Utah. Arrangements are under the direction of Scheer Memorial Chapel.
