Nellie F. Ammons, 91, of Fairmont, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Wishing Well Manor in Fairmont. She was born Oct. 5, 1909, in Weston, daughter of the late F. Lawrence and Jessie Jarvis Henry. She was a homemaker and a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Fairmont. She had previously been employed at Hartley's Department Store in Fairmont in the gift wrapping department. She is survived by a son and spouse, Lawrence Richard and Betty Ammons, of St. Johns, Mich.; a brother and spouse, Thomas and June Henry, of Uniontown, Ohio; two sisters, Ernestine Dwyer, of Beaver, and Marcelia Woofter, of Barberton, Ohio; four grandchi ldren, Lawrence, Beverly, Kimberly and John; and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Glenn Ammons, on Feb. 14, 1983; and a sister, Vera Chandler.

Friends may call at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, until the 1 p.m. service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, with the Rev. David Mellquist officiating. Burial will b e in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown.
