BRIDGEPORT — Maxine E. Anderson, 93, of Hinkle Lake, passed away Friday morning, April 19, 2013, in the United Hospital Center.

She was born on April 15, 1920, in Weston, a daughter of the late Roley L. and Gladys M. Pratt Williams.

On December 10, 1939, she married Paul D. Anderson, who preceded her in death on January 1, 2000.

She is survived by a daughter, Patty Swiger, Wheeling; four granddaughters, Becky McCullough and her husband Brian, Wheeling, Lori Hartung and her husband Duke, Moundsville, Melissa Johnson, Myrtle Beach, SC; and Shelli Riddell and her husband Jay, Little River, SC, several great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. A brother, Duane Williams and his wife Louise “Bootsie,” Clarksburg; a sister-in-law, Angero Williams, Clarksburg; her stepmother, Ann Williams, Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews complete her family.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William “Bill” Paul Anderson, her son-in-law, Earle E. Swiger; and her twin brothers, Luther and Lee Williams.

Maxine was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She attended Bible Baptist Temple, and loved her puzzlebooks, gardening and working in her flower beds.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, with Pastor Chuck Madaus presiding. Interment will be in Bridgeport Cemetery.
