She is survived by her husband and caregiver, John Allevato, whom she married on October 18, 1952. Also surviving are one daughter, Deborah K. Frum and her husband, Stanley, of Clarksburg; two sons, John F. Allevato and his wife, Melonie, of Charleston, WV and Gregory S. Allevato and his wife Nena, of Myersville, MD, eight grandchildren, Kaitlin and Meghan Frum of Clarksburg, Jason, Jennifer, John Michael and Matthew Allevato of Charleston and Anthony and Nicholas Allevato of Myersville, MD; one step granddaughter, Michelle Frum Cunningham and a step great granddaughter, Brooklyn Marie.
She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Franklin L. Oliverio, and his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Oliverio, who was the sister she never had, nephews, Mark, Patrick, Michael and Matthew Oliverio and a niece, Paige Oliverio Mallet.
Betty graduated from Roosevelt-Wilson High School in 1950. She married her beloved husband in 1952 and became a Homemaker and mother for over 52 years. She worked as a teacher's aide for Headstart and the business manager for her brother's dental practice. Betty also volunteered her time as a Sunday School teacher and teacher's aide at Faith Christian Academy and Heritage Christian School.
Betty was a lover of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and spoke often of being able to "walk the streets of heaven without pain". She was a wonderful mother and doting grandmother who spent hours in the kitchen cooking for her family. Betty was a very active member of the Faith Christian Assembly until she became too ill to attend services.
Family and friends may call at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held at the Faith Christian Assembly Church at 11 a.m., Monday, July 4, 2005 with the Pastor Donald Hawkins presiding. Mrs. Allevato will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
