Virginia B. Ammons, 87 of Mannington passed away Thursday (April 19, 2007) at Fitzwater’s Personal Care Home in Fairmont.

She was born March 22, 1920 at Alpoca, the daughter of the late Hobert and Berkie L. Graham Stewart.

Virginia was a member of the First Christian Church in Worthington, where she was a member of the ladies aide Society. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Augusta Chapter 6, Order of the Eastern Star in Mannington.

She is survived by five sons; three stepdaughters; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Berry Frye in 1959, and her second husband, William Lane Ammons in 1986; and two brothers, Posey Stewart and Roscoe Ray Stewart.

Friends may call at Hutson Funeral Home, 500 East Main St., Mannington, on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Peter Ray Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
