Ava Ackerson, 95, formerly of Parkersburg, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Arcadia Nursing Home.
She was born May 20, 1909, at Cedarville, W.Va., a daughter of the late Edwin and Madge Waggoner and was a resident of Parkersburg for many years.
She was a graduate of St. Marys High School. She was a member of St. Marys Baptist Church in St. Marys and later attended Seventh Street E.U.B. Church in Parkersburg.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, her caretaker, neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Ackerson; three brothers; and two sisters.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Joe Heilman and Pastor Mike Allen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today.
