Ruth C. Adams, 91, of Parkersburg, died Sept. 6, 2007, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 16, 1916, in Rockport, W.Va., a daughter of the late William H. and Ella M. Houck Cooper. She retired from First Federal Savings & Loan, was a member of the Parkersburg Woman?s Club and Christian Woman?s Association. She was also a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Doreen Zinkus of Springfield, Va.; three stepgrandchildren, Matthew Zinkus of Atlanta, Ga., Jennifer Manning of Chicago, Ill., and Kimberly Lawson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two great-nephews, Samuel Stephens of Madison, Ala., and Jeffrey Stephens of Denver, Colo.; and one great-great-niece, Laura Stephens of Madison, Ala.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Adams; one brother, Carl J. Cooper; one sister, Buelah Stephens; and nephew, Earl C. Stephens.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Thomas D. McDowell and Pastor Jim Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
