She was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the daughter of Robert and Ivy Corinne Davis.
Mrs. Adams was a longtime resident of Owensboro, Ky.; and formerly of Doylestown, Pa., Punta Gorda, Fla., and most recently, Winston-Salem. She was a Presbyterian, and was an active member of the Burnt Store Presbyterian Church in Punta Gorda. She was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star and Girl Scouts of the United States of America for many years. Mrs. Adams was a devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward M. Adams of Winston-Salem; daughters, Kathy (Steve) Cuthbert of Indianapolis, Ind., and Dr. Melanie Adams of Winston-Salem; son, Edward Maxwell (Rita) Adams Jr. of Owensboro; six grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Highland Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Girl Scouts USA, P.O. Box 19611A, Newark, NJ 07195-0611.
