Lavena Shaffer Austin, 74, of 1130 Charles Avenue, Morgantown, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at her home. She was born March 16, 1926, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Allison "Jack" and Maude Snyder Shaffer. She was employed as a court reporter for the 17th Judicial Circuit of Monongalia County from 1971 until July 1, 1988, when she retired. She is survived by her husband, Allen Earl Austin, of Morgantown; a son, Anthony "A.J." Austin, at home; three grandchildren and a spouse, Aaron and Cynthia Cox, of Morgantown, Amy Cox, of Morgantown, and Tiffany Floyd, of Fairmont; four great-grandchildren, Donnie Zeigler, Paige Protzman, Parker Floyd and Cody Stevens, all at home; two brothers and spouses, Terry L. and De Shaffer, of Morgantown, and Lewis R. and Reevie Shaffer, of Cumberland, Md. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Kay Jones. Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Monday. Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, with the Rev. James M.
