Florence M. Babon (aka: Grandma B) of Camarillo, Calif., previously of Danbury, and Brewster, N.Y., peacefully passed away with her family by her side on December 28, 2010 after a sudden illness. Florence was born in Towners, N.Y. on December 15, 1917 to John and Florence (Bennett) Hyatt. On January 2, 1933, she married the love of her life, Joseph W. Babon. From this union, they had five children. Joe, her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, died on December 7, 1986. Florence married Lawrence J. Robertson in 1990. Mr. Robertson also preceded her in death in 1994. She retired after working for more than 35 years at Consolidated Midland Corp. in Brewster, N.Y. Grandma B was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She loved worshiping God and was a member of the Catholic Daughter's. Grandma B loved to travel and visited many places during her life. Grandma B is survived by her loving children, Dorothy Schneider of Camarillo, Calif., Thomas Babon (Maureen) of Northern Ireland, Josephine Hicks of Logandale, Nev. and Paul Babon (Chrissie) of Brewster, N.Y.; and many cherished grand, great and great-great-grand-children. Daughter and best friend, Kathleen P. Bergensten (KK), preceded her in death in 2006. Florence was our family MATRIARCH and she will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held in the Spring at St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery in Brewster, NY. Arrangements are being handled by Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave. Brewster NY.
