David Leslie Abelson passed away in his home surrounded by family members on Sunday, February 20, 2011.

He moved to California with his family from Baltimore, Maryland as a young boy. David served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal.

His career in the food service industry spanned a period of almost fifty years. He was the food service director in six major healthcare facilities in Southern California and was recognized for his achievements.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Joyce; three children, Dr. Lauren Norby, Dr. Robert (Michelle) Abelson, and Belinda (Jason) Hill. His five grandchildren Coral Young, Nishan, Lillitha, and Zari Hill, and Jeffrey Abelson. David's two brothers, Dr. Sigmund Abelson and Harry Abelson and his sisters-in-law, Teri and Pam Abelson. David was loved by his family, respected in his work and for his values.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Hillside Memorial Park.
