Michael George Agate, age 78, passed away suddenly on January 11, 2012 in West Los Angeles, doing what he enjoyed most, playing golf.

He leaves behind two loving children, son James and daughter Jory, his brother Peter, and his adored partner of many years Barbara Sterling.

Michael was schooled in Los Angeles, and a graduate of Stanford University. After a stint in the Army, he moved to the East Coast, married, and engaged in the family trade show business, followed by a successful career in the advertising business.

His success took him to Japan, where he served as VP for a major New York advertising firm for several years. Upon his return to the U.S. he founded Bright & Agate, then Select Resources Int'l, a highly respected firm serving advertisers and their contributors. He grew this company until its sale and his retirement.

Michael had many friends over the years and will be missed.

Funeral services will be held at Hillside Mortuary today, Friday, January 13, 2012, at 1:00 p.m.
