Mrs. William Adam
Mrs. William (Mary) Adam, age 71, former resident of Dyersville and Dubuque, died at her home in Gardena, California, on Sunday morning, August 22, at 3:15.
Funeral services were held on Thursday at 9:00 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Gardena. Burial was in the Holy Cross Cemetery at Los Angeles, California.
Mary Feldmann was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Feldmann and was born at Dyersville, Iowa, March 9, 1899. She was married to William Adam November 16, 1920. They had planned to celebrate their Golden Wedding this coming November. After their marriage, they lived in Dubuque for 25 years and the past 25 years had lived in California.
She is survived by her widower, William Adam of Gardena; four sons, George of Reading, Pa., William of Minneapolis, Minn., Melvin and Donald, both of Gardena, California; five daughters, Mary Adam of Gardena, Mrs. Monica Tobias of Gardena, Mrs. Rosemary McMurray of Rosewood, California, Mrs. Marian Isom of Huntington Beach, California and Mrs. Darlene Fletcher of Edmund, Washington; four brothers, Charles of Worthington, Tony of Earlville, Joseph of Delhi and John of Hopkinton and three sisters, Mrs. Frances Nefzger of Earlville, Mrs. Catherine Bastian of Dubuque and Mrs. Gus (Betty) Fortman, also of Dubuque. Mrs. Adam was preceded in death by her parents; four children died in infancy.
