Richard C. Aguirre, beloved husband of 48 years to his high school sweetheart Lori, died April 6, 2011 peacefully in the comfort of his own home. Richard was a long time resident of Atwater, California where he and his wife raised 4 children, enjoyed 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Richard will be especially remembered as a local race car owner/driver along with his brother Chuck Aguirre. Richard passes on his lifelong passion of the sport to his son Jason. He also loved playing Bingo with his wife, sister and many Bingo friends. Born November 7, 1943 in Phoenix, Arizona to Wen and Stella Aguirre, he was one of seven children. While raising his family Richard enjoyed volunteering his time with some of the many activities his children were involved with such as baseball and boxing, but there was no activity he enjoyed more than that of being Papa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Delores, his daughters, Christina Gonzalez (Porfirio) of Atwater CA, Alisa Yanez (Gerardo) of Atwater CA, Victoria McDonald (Jeffery) of San Jose CA and his son Jason Aguirre (Lyalla) of Atwater CA. Additional survivors include his grandchildren Ernie (Megan), Ricky (Sonia), David, Sara, Emily, Alex, Candace, Jordan, Isaac, Haley, Olivia, Chelsea, his great-grandchildren Evan, Conner and Esmerelda, his brother Chuck Aguirre of Modesto CA and sisters Lupe Hernandez and Stella Aguirre both of Winton CA. Richard was preceded in death by both his parents and 3 sisters.

Viewing will be held at Ivers and Alcorn in Atwater, CA on Monday April 11th from 4-8pm with Rosary at 6pm. Burial will be at the Winton District Cemetery on Tuesday April 12th at 10am.
