Virginia L. Brewer Ammons, 95, of Mt. Morris, died at 4:45 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013, in her home.

She was born Thursday, June 6, 1918, in Pentress, W.Va., a daughter of the late Arza Brewer and Amanda May Klink Brewer.

Mrs. Ammons was a member of Mt. Morris United Methodist Church, Mt. Morris Senior Citizens and James T. Maxon American Legion Post 992 Auxiliary.

She enjoyed crocheting and ceramics.

Mrs. Ammons had worked for several years as a secretary for Kleer Kable Company, a company her husband started. She was a homemaker.

On October 18, 1938, she married Albert Clyde Ammons, who died April 17, 1997.

Surviving are a son and his wife, Albert D. (Mary Basile) Ammons of Mt. Morris; a grandson and his wife, Chad (Michelle Butcher) Ammons of Atlanta, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Dane Ammons and Rhett Ammons, both of Kingwood, W.Va.; and a sister-in-law, Alberta Ammons of Mt. Morris.

Deceased is a brother, Furman Brewer.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, PA 15349, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 12, with the Rev. Ronald Geisler officiating. Burial will be held in Olive Cemetery, Pentress.
