Robert C. Arnett, 89, of Jakes Run, died Thursday, August 5, 2010 in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born on Jakes Run on April 7, 1921, the oldest child of the late Arlie G. and Ethel Tennant Arnett.

Mr. Arnett was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II. He retired from Pennzoil Oil and Gas Company after 31 years of service.

Although not a carpenter by trade, he helped all his children throughout the years with home construction and numerous home improvement projects. He remained an inspiration throughout the years.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Ruth Tennant Arnett; 2 daughters, a son eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two brothers and their spouses,

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alberta Sago and Judy Jolliff, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Arnett, and a nephew Mike Arnett.

At the request of the deceased there will be no funeral home visitation or funeral service. All services will be private and held at the convenience of the
family. Mr. Arnett has chosen cremation as his method of disposition.

The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
