She was preceded in death by husband, John E. Acuff, Jr, May 24, 2010.
Mrs. Acuff worked at what is now Y-12 during WWII as one of the "Calutron Girls." Kitty had a love of music and was a life member of the Knoxville Area Dulcimer Club. She was also a member of The Tuesday Group, playing lovely harmony on her lap dulcimer.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Doughty of Knoxville and cousins, Virginia Lee Currier of Annapolis, MD and Wilma Wilson of Knoxville.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 10, 2013 from 5 – 7pm at Weatherford Mortuary. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 11am at Bookwalter Cemetery in Knoxville. An on-line guest book can be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com.
