Died, Saturday, October 8, at 1:20 a.m., Mrs. F.W. Achelpohl, aged 57 years 6 months and 20 days.

Anna Klueter, was born in Prossian, Germany in 1841, removed to St. Louis, Mo., in 1843, and two years later, to Quincy, Ill. Was married Sept. 25, 1860 to F.W. Achelpohl. There were born unto them nine children, five boys and four girls, all of whom with her husband survive her and were at her bedside when she passed away.

The deceased had been in poor health for about two years but was able to attend to her household duties till about the middle of July when she was taken down. Death resulted from acute miliary tuberculosis with ulceration of the stomach and bowels. Mrs. Achelpohl was much esteemed and loved by all who knew her, and her loss is deeply mourned by the people of the neighborhood as well as the family. She had been a member of the German Lutheran church since she was fourteen years of age and was a devoted Christian and her friends and loved ones have the assurance that she was ready to meet her Redemer.

The funeral took place from the family residence in Creek township at 1 p.m. Sunday; the sermon being preached by Rev. Krenke of Garden Plaine, Kansas. A large number of friends were present to show the last tribute of respect. The body was laid to rest in Argonia cemetery.
