Drs. Hollingsworth and Williamson were called upon Tuesday to perform a very delicate and difficult piece of surgery in the case of a Mrs. Atteberry, living some thirteen miles southwest of here in the strip. It was a case of strangulated hernia; and it became necessary to reduce the rupture to make an incision through the abdominal wall, some six inches in length. On making the incision the fact was developed that gangrene had sit in, and while the operation was successful and the patient readily rallied from the effects, the case had reached such a stage before medical advice was called that grave doubts as to the lady's recovery are entertained. Dr. Hollingsworth used the knife and Dr. Williamson administered the chloreform.

LATER: - The lady, whom we have since learned was the sister of Mrs. J.S. Butcher of this place, died on Thursday and the remains were taken to her former home west of Corbin, Friday for burial.
