Aviation Pioneer. One of the first American barnstormers, he became the first air fatality ever in Canada when he was killed in his seacraft in Victoria, British Columbia on August 6, 1913. He was married to Alys McKey Bryant, who was the first woman pilot to fly in Canada, over Vancouver, in a Curtiss-type pusher biplane. She had made that first flight two weeks before John Bryant's accident.
