Actor. He was an American actor mainly of the mid-20th century. Starting in theater in the 1940s, he played the role of the sheriff in seven episodes of the ABC Television western program, the "Lone Ranger," which aired in 1949 to 1957. Besides the "Lone Ranger," he appeared in other television programs with guest appearances such as a role in 1957 in "Maverick," two episodes in "Dragnet," two episodes in "Annie Oakley," and four episodes in "The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp." His last television role was a judge in 1966 in "Green Acres." He often had a small role such as a clerk, mailman, waiter, or a man on the street. He had minor supporting or uncredited roles in 40 films including: "Blondie for Victory" in 1942, "White Heat" and "Batman and Robin" in 1949, "The Day the Earth Stood Still" in 1951, "A Star is Born" and "The Fast and the Furious" in 1954, "It Conquered the World" in 1956, "Band of Angels' in 1957 and "A Summer Place" in 1959. In 1925 he married Adelaide Bushnell, and she died in 1953.
