Scientist, Medical Pioneer. Legendary psychiatrist, and originator of the "Interpersonal Theory of Psychiatry." Worked superbly with schizophrenics, and formulated a global theory of social progress, incorporating psychiatry, anthropology, and sociology, among others. Was a Captain in the Army Medical Corps. Educated at the Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery. Affiliations with Edward Sapir, William Alanson White and others led to his over-arching theories of social harmony and peace. Died in Paris, France of a heart ailment.
