Politician, human rights activist and democracy supporter. One of the heavyweights of the Peronist Party, he was senator and three times governor of the Chaco province. In the late 1970s, he was accused internationally at the Argentine dictatorship for his human rights violations. In the 1983 elections he ran for the vice-presidency.
