Famed American novelist. His esteemed works include "The Messages and Papers of Congress," "The Classic Library of Famous Literature," "The Consolidated Library," and "The Governor's Boss," which was turned into a play in 1914. Also, in 1902, he was elected to the State Senate in Indiana. Barcus resigned from the Senate in 1905 because he disapproved of another candidates nomination. Before his death in 1920, Barcus wrote the novel "The Repentance of Croesus" and published "The Governor's Boss" in novel form.
