He was a violinist who performed in several motion pictures until an injury ended his musical career, after which he became a writer for television, stage and films as well as acting in all three genres. He acted in the theatre on Broadway in New York City, New York in "Eternal Road," "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep," "A Flag is Born" and "Who Was That Lady I Saw You With?" Film appearances included "The Interns," "Bye Bye Birdie," "Johnny Cool" and "The Vagabond King." He made many appearances on television from the early 1950s to the early 1970s, playing doctors, lawyers, professors and judges and the like in "Studio One In Hollywood," "Peter Gunn," "77 Sunset Strip," "Sugarfoot," "Death Valley Days," "Boris Karloff's Thriller," "Hazel," "The Farmer's Daughter," "Daniel Boone," "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.," "Get Smart," "Lost in Space," "The Time Tunnel," "The Wild Wild West," "Lassie," "Mannix," "Bridget Loves Bernie" and "Columbo." He had recurring roles on "Perry Mason," "Ben Casey" and "Peyton Place." He wrote for the early live television show "Lights Out" and near the end of his life published a book, "Family."
