Academy Award-winning cinematographer. He won an Oscar for his work on the 1969 comedy/adventure "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." He won a second Oscar for "American Beauty" (2000). His final project was "Road To Perdiction" (2002). Other works include "Searching for Bobby Fischer," "Tequilla Sunrise," "A Civil Action," and "The Marathon Man," among others. He was born in Papeete, Tahiti. (bio by: John Sheets)
