Major League Baseball Pitcher. Played with the Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers and Houston Astros. Made his mark as the set up man for the Detroit Tigers Cy Young and MVP pitcher Willie Hernandez in 1984. He was 10-1 that year with a 2.94 ERA. Nicknamed 'Señor Smoke' for his excellent fastball. He was later elected municipal president of his hometown in Tecamachalco in Puebla, Mexico. This is the equivalent of being a Mayor. He was killed when the car he was driving overturned about 300 miles north of Mexico City.
