Professional Baseball Player. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he was an outstanding high school athlete and attended the University of North Carolina on a football scholarship. In addition to playing football for the Tarheels he also played baseball, where he caught the eye of pro scouts. In 1969 he was signed by the New York Yankees as an undrafted free agent. Buskey was a relief pitcher for the Yankees from 1973 to 1974, the Cleveland Indians from 1974 to 1978, and the Toronto Blue Jays from 1978 until his retirement in 1980. He appeared in 258 games, winning 21 and losing 27 while registering 34 saves with a 3.66 earned run average.
