Musician. He first played at the Grand Ole Opry when he was 9, along with his father and two brothers as part of "Floyd Terry and his Young 'Uns." He joined the Opry at age 19, remaining there for 8 years while recording a few solo singles on various labels. His biggest hit was "Wild Honey," released in 1957. He recorded with notable Country Music Hall of Famers Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Ray Price, Bill Monroe and Lefty Frizzell. Also trying his hand at acting he played in western movies, and appeared in the show Sky King. Terry was a former president of the Reunion of Professional Entertainers. He was a member of the Fiddlers' Hall of Fame.

Funeral for Gordon Terry, 74, of Pulaski, Tenn., will be Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Larry Thomas, Paul Mason and Zachary Terry officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Terry, who died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at his daughter's residence,
was born Oct. 7, 1931, in Moulton to Floyd and Stella Terry.
He was a country music entertainer, having performed at the Grand Ole Opry and appeared in commercials and film.
At the age of 14, he won the Alabama Fiddling Championship.
Mr. Terry was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame and was also a charter member of the Fiddler's Hall of Fame.
He was founder and CEO of ROPE, Reunion of Professional Entertaining.

Survivors include his
wife, Virginia Terry;
two daughters, Rhonda Thorson of Nashville, Tenn., and Mitzi Winter of Spring Hill, Tenn.;
three brothers, Buddy Terry, Calvin Terry and Carl Terry;
five sisters, Betty Jean Morgan, Marcie Sandlin, Merle Garrison, Melba Cabler and Jimmie Lemmond; and
three grandchildren, Dustin Smith, Lauren Smith and Lars Thorson.

Pallbearers will be nephews.
