Sports Magnate. Along with Marv Wolfensen, he co-founded the Minnesota Timberwolves basketball team in 1989. This brought the NBA back to Minnesota for the first time since the Minneapolis Lakers moved to Los Angeles in 1960. Nicknamed "Harv and Marv", Ratner and Wolfenson were business partners for nearly five decades. They owned the Timberwolves until 1994. Ratner died of cancer at 79.
