French Philosopher. Best remembered for his "deconstruction theory" - a complex school of thought which unpicks text in order to reveal its hidden meanings. During his career he taught at the Sorbonne and several universities in America. His writings include Speech and Phenomena (1973), Writing and Difference (1978), Positions (1981), Margins of Philosophy (1983), The Ear of the Other (1988), The Other Heading (1991) and Spectres of Marx (1994).
