Hall of Fame Canadian Football League Coach. As the head coach of the Ottawa Rough Riders in the 1960s, he is best known for leading the once fledgling team on to three Grey Cup championship victories (1960, 1968, 1969). Then, as general manager of the team in the 1970s, he saw them through to two more championships (1973, 1976). Clair was inducted in the CFL Hall of Fame in 1981, and in the 1993, the former Rough Rider stadium was renamed Frank Clair in his honor. He was a star wide receiver for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and played one year in the National Football League (1941) with the Washington Redskins. He also coached the CFL's Toronto Argonauts from 1950 to 1954.
