Singer. Born Willie Frances Peak, she recorded for Motown Records after winning a talent show in 1965. She was awarded $500, one dozen long stemmed red roses and a recording contract for one year and the honor of being the first female artist signed to Motown's subsidiary Soul label. In 1966 she recorded her first release "Keep On Lovin' Me", however, it was not a major hit. After having no other recordings with Motown, she left Motown after three years. However, she had a hit single in the UK in 1991 with "Footsteps Following Me".
