Murder Victim. One of the victims of the DC Beltway Sniper, he was killed in the parking lot of Shoppers Food Warehouse. The 1969 business graduate of Southeast Missouri State University was a veteran employed as a program manager for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Office of Marine and Aviation Operations. He volunteered at the Shepherd Elementary School in Washington D. C., judging their science fairs, speaking with their Parent Teacher Association, and arranging for computer donations. A resident of Silver Springs, Maryland, he was a husband and father, a Boy Scout Leader for his son's troop, and a church trustee. He was, in fact, at Shoppers to purchase groceries for his church's youth group that day. He was a Civil War buff and amateur genealogist, actively researching his wife's Civil War ancestors and his own Missouri roots.
