U.S. Congressman, U.S. Senator. Born the son of U.S. Congressman and U.S. Senator John Glenn Beall, he served during World War II in the United States Navy, (1945-46). After the war, he graduated Yale University, 1950 and was a member of his father’s insurance firm Beall, Garner & Geare Incorporated. He was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, (1962-68). In 1969, he was elected as a Republican to the Ninety-first Congress, serving until 1971. He was then elected as a Republican to the United States Senate, serving (1971-77). After his term, he served as the President and Chairman of the charity The League for Crippled Children from 1978 until his death at age 78.
