Roman Catholic Saint. He was born in the north of England, he converted, traveled to Ireland and then became the "Bishop of the Frisians", which is the present Netherlands where he built a cathedral. He founded the monastery at Echternach, Luxembourg; made numerous conversions to Christianity in travels and was honored with being a saint almost immediately upon his death.
