Esther A. Fuerst, 85, died January 25, 2014, 1:21 a.m., at Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. She was born June 7, 1928 in Leipsic, to Frank S. and Mary C. (Hermiller) Schroeder, who preceded her in death. She married Joseph F. Fuerst on May 28, 1952, who survives in Columbus Grove.

Mrs. Fuerst was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Anthony Church, and the Altar Rosary Society of the church. Esther enjoyed playing Bingo.

Survivors include two sons, Leonard V. Fuerst, Columbus Grove, and Francis W. "Fritz" Fuerst, Shawnee; two daughters, Marilyn A. (Patrick) Heyneman of Meridian, ID, and Elaine M. (Joseph) Gibson of Bluffton; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; four brothers, Ambrose Schroeder of Leipsic, John (Cathy) Schroeder of Ottawa, Stephen Schroeder of Ottawa, August Schroeder of Ottawa; and one sister, Margaret Palte of Lakeview.

Esther is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber Heyneman; two brothers, Andrew and Herman Schroeder; three sisters, Madonna Schroeder, Evelyn McLaughlin, Ardella Kleman; and six half brothers, Richard, Linus, Nelman, Everett, Sixtus and Herbert Schroeder.

Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at St. Anthony Church, Columbus Grove. Rev. Tom Extejt will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.
