Civil War Union Army Soldier. He was mustered in as a Private in Company D, 91st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry on February 12, 1864. He was wounded in the May 5 1864 Battle of Spottsylvania, Virginia, and died of those wounds on May 24, 1864.

His stone reads "Mother One of us ought to go. Why not me?"
