He was the son of Roswell Levi [ or Levi R.] Babbitt, of Canada. Levi was listed as a lumber merchant; he died in Buenas Aires, Argentina in 1906 of heart failure.

He was the son of Grace Pauline Drake, of NY. In 1880 their home was in Albany, NY.

Perry Babbitt was a US citizen, he died of heart failure in Leme, Brazil, in the presence of his wife, Catherine Agnes Babbitt. Their residence was in the Leme neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. There was also a U.S. address for him in Brooklyn, NY.

His wife returned to the US by the end of June, 1913. A widow, she would be found living with her parents, Christopher and Catherine Carraher, in Brooklyn, NY, in 1920.
