Wife of 63 years, mother of four, mamaw of nine, and great-mamaw of four. She devoted her life to family, God, and genealogy. We love you and miss you!

KEAR, MRS. BARBARA JEAN - age 82, of Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, November 14th, 2013. Mrs. Kear was a long-time member of Lovell Heights Church of God, where she served as church clerk for many years. She is currently a member of First Baptist of Concord. She is preceded in death by parents, Harley and Ida Belle Berry; and eight siblings. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Ralph C. Kear; children, Wilma (Rob) Effler, Teresa (Dean) Greer, Ralph (Kim) Kear, and Renee Huskey; grandchildren, Charlie and Neil Effler, Michael, Kevin and Chris Greer, Courtney and Alex Kear, Alyssa and Joshua Huskey; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Ethan, Skyler, and Eli; siblings, Bertha (Rev. J.H.) Kear, Margie (Jay) Lively, Ross (Bobbie) Berry, Ed (Wilma) Berry, and Ronnie (Glenda) Berry; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 19th, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, funeral service to immediately follow at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Timothy E. Brown officiating. Committal services will be held on Wednesday, November 20th, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Gindy Houston for continued support of her Homebound Ministry that has been a tremendous blessing to the family over the last two years.
