Elmer S. Carlson was my maternal grandmother. He was a gifted carpenter and worked as a civilian for the U.S. Naval Shipyard in Boston for several years. His parents were Samuel Carlson and Emma E. (Lundholm) Carlson. He married Mary (Cahill) Carlson and they had 5 children: John S. Carlson, Judy (Carlson) Pietroski, George P. Carlson, Nancy (Carlson)Cameron, and Richard E. Carlson.
