Dorothy Jean Potter Hall

Dorothy Jean Potter Hall, age 72, beloved wife of 51 years to James B. Hall, died on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center in Sumter, S.C.

She was born in Blount County, Tenn., a daughter of the late Manse Ernest Potter and Margie Leona Myers Potter. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and was affectionately called "Jean Darling" by her husband, J.B. She was very active and generous to the Toys for Tots campaign at Christmas and will always be remembered as a very loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She attended the Springbank Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Jama Hall and Cindy Bacvinskas and her husband Kevin, all of Dalzell; two sisters, Faye Gregory and her husband Wayne of Greenback, Tenn., and Ruth McGill and her husband Kenneth of Maryville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, James Bacvinskas and Allen Bacvinskas.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 4-6 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Miller and Rev. Mark Barnette officiating. Burial will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 3 p.m. in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Springbank Baptist Church "Building Fund", 5725 Fish Road, Dalzell, SC 29040, The American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or to a charity of one's choice. The family has chosen Bullock Funeral Home for the arrangements.
