ANTHONY --- Virgil A. Patterson, 87, died Jan. 16, 1996, at Rose Hill.
He was born June 17, 1908, at Anthony, the son of James A. and Edna Patton Patterson. He graduated from Anthony High School and attended Kansas State University for a year. He was a farmer/stockman.
He was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church, Hopewell.
Survivors include: two sons, James E., Alba, Texas, and Larry L., Mulvane; a brother, Carl, Chesterton, Ind.; a sister, Lois Carpenter, Anthony; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Spring Grove Cemetery, Anthony, with the Rev. Harald Wisegarver presiding. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Thursday and until service time Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Anthony.
Memorials may be sent to Community Bible Church, Harper, in care of the mortuary.
