He was born in York Springs, a son of the late Wesley D. and Sofia Delta Starry Lory, and had resided in that community all his life.
He was a fruit farmer until 30 years ago when he went into the cabinet making business from which he retired in May 1974. He was a lifelong member of the York Springs IOOF.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Davis Lory; a son: Charles E. Lory of York Springs R.1.; three daughters: Mrs. Dale Williams of York Springs R.1.; Mrs. Richard Speck of Dillsburg R.1.; and Mrs. John Jacobs of York; two sisters: Margie Lory of Newburgh, N.Y.; and Mrs. Ralph Rumsey of Dillsburg; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services held at the Pittenturf Funeral Home, York Springs, with his pastor Rev. David Schmuck officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, York Springs.
